Layout information and inspiration:

"My Favorite Thingsdigital scrapbook layout by Laura Louie use:

This was a fun layout because it gave me an opportunity to use a bunch of random photos that I really liked, but hadn't been able to unite under a theme before!  Now many of my favorite things are documented on a page that was fast and easy to layout.  I added my usual inked edges and drop shadow to the photos, and then embellished with some small flowers that served as small decorations but didn't interfere with my photos.  I liked the star/swirl, so I just added a little outer glow to help it stand out from my photos.  A very simple script title completed the layout!

"Electrical Parade" digital scrapbook layout by Laura Louie uses:

This layout was very fast and easy - I just popped in my photos and added a white stroke to help separate them from the dark background.  I didn't need a title because I was lucky to have a shot of the "Electrical Parade" float that I was able to use instead!  Once that was done, I added a few swirls (I LOVE swirls in my layouts) and a few scattered flowers.  I colored the side squared with tones from the photos and kept the scattered flower neutral so the emphasis stayed on my photos.

"Bemuda" digital scrapbook layout by Laura Louie uses:

Ah Bermuda!  This layout was bittersweet for me!  Sweet because I love Bermuda SO much, and bitter because I miss it so much!!!  But still, it was nice to take a stroll down memory lane and showcase some favorite shots!  I couldn't make my shot of St. David's Lighthouse fit in one space, so I decided to combine two spaces to make it work!  I just clicked on those two layers and pressed Command+E to merge them into one layer.  Then I positioned my photo so it worked over those spaces.  I also added a piece of ripped velum onto the Gibbs Hill Lighthouse photo which is a great way to separate your captions from the photos.  Just add your paper over the photo and reduce transparency for a faux velum feel!

"Storm King Art Centerdigital scrapbook layout by Laura Louie use:

For this layout, I had a TON of photos that I loved and wanted to use!  I chose to put my close-up shots in the smaller spaces because I really wanted the fall foliage to be visible in the more distant shots.  I added my cluster onto some smaller spaces so that it didn't interfere with my photos.  I like to use subtle papers behind my titles, but in retrosect, monotone or sepia photos might have worked as well.  I added a thin stroke and some inner/outer shadow to my photos to complete the layout!

"Recitaldigital scrapbook layout by Laura Louie use:

I only had a few photos that I really liked for this layout, so I used them and filled in my blank spaces with some solid papers from the Beautiful Dancer Solid Papers.  I think those solid papers create a nice background for embellishments and help keep the balanced feel of the layout.  I also dropped them behind the "Recital" title and then the better photos in more prominent positions in the layout.
